Since I am a c/s - I have 2 nightgowns packed. The nurses have to keep checking the stitches

I brought both & found that they only check you maybe twice a day, it wasn't a big deal to take my pants down.

Also I'd recommend a dark color b/c the first day or so you are bleeding some and may feel more comfortable w/ visitors in a dark color.

Re: For the hospital are you bringing pajama gowns or pants?

With all the bleeding and checking my stitches, I'm glad I wore the hospital gown the first day and a half. I wore my own gown on the last day.

Also- something I WASN'T expecting- I had a total loss of my ability to hoild urine while I was in the hospital. All the water you retain through your pg comes out in the days following delivery. I was peeing like a racehorse when I WAS able to make it to the restroom- but many times it would soak through the ginormous pads and wind up on me.Chat Icon

I had a c-section and wore the hospital gown for the entire first day. After that I wore regular pajamas because I was able to just pull up the top and pull down the bottoms a little bit for them to see the incision.

During the day I wore sweat pants and a tank shirt as I felt I needed to be somewhat dressed and didn't want to sit in my pajamas all day.

I will be having my 3rd c/s and I will be wearing capri-type pajama pants the whole time. I HATE hospital gowns, and do not really want my children seeing my in one either (they are 2 and 3).

The minute I am able to stand up and walk around, I will getting into my own comfy PJs Chat Icon

First baby - I brought gowns and saw no reason. This time I am bringing pj's with pants/capris.

I wore pajama pants and a nursing tank . I wore the hospital gown the first day because I was bleeding a lot.

Also buy a few pairs of panties you will throw away. I bled through a few pairs!

I'm going to bring a gown and pants. I figure I can wear the pants during visiting hours bc I think I will be more comfy.

I didn't have a c-section, and had DD very early in the morning. I wore the hospital gown until just before visiting hours started, when I showered, then I put on pants and a nursing tank, then put my robe on top. The next day I wore my own pants & tank. I was much more comfy in them than the hospital gown, and I agree, go with dark colors!!!!

I already bought a pants outfit but I guess I should get a gown also since I am having a c-section. I just like pants better.

I wore capri pj's after I had Julia and had no problems, its easier to just pull the pants down in the front and let the dr check the stiches.

Re: For the hospital are you bringing pajama gowns or pants?

i'm always very warm so I bought stretchy cotton dark color shorts and ribbed tanks. They were cheap and I didn't care if they got ruined. They actually didn't and it felt good to be in clothes when walking around.

I ended up wearing them too the entire time and not wearing the clothes I brought. I was hurting too much to put pants on anyway.

Re: For the hospital are you bringing pajama gowns or pants?

I am having a C-section and plan to bring both. (Hey, I won't be carrying my bags, I'll bring all I want.) When I had abdominal surgery, I was not comfortable walking the floor unless I had pants on. In the bed I did not care. I think I used draw string pants at that time and I had a very swollen belly.

I had forgotten about the dark colors thing until I read this, but I did find it easier. Also, I preferred some fun bright colors to cheer me up (but it was a little different because I wasn't there to have a baby). I used a colorful duffle bag and kept it near me.

I think I brought both, but ultimetly stayed in my hopsital gown until I left. I was in too much pain to change in and out of Pj's.
