For those doing organic mattresses/bedding
So we are getting an organic mattress and bedding for Lexi, but I will be EBF so I was thinking of either getting a co-sleeper or pack and play to keep near the bed at night......
DO they make organic ones?? I mean we are making sure her crib and everythign is organic because of chemicals from plastic etc it seems kinda funny that the first few weeks of life when she is so little she is sleeping in somethign made out of plastic. Doesn't it defeat teh purpose
I am driving myself nuts over this. I priced out a wodden bassinett with organic mattress and sheets and its almost as much as her crib!!!
DH said maybe we will set the crib up in our room and when we are ready to move her to her own room he will break it down and reasemble it in her room. I think this si a lot of work and I think I am going to want her close to me........
ANy suggestions???

Can you attach wheels to the bottom of the crib so that he can roll it into the nursery when you're ready, instead of breaking it down? Then you can just take the wheels off when it's all set in the nursery.

Unfortunately no.....I live in a 100 year old victorian mansion. Guess what back then teh doorways were shorter and narrower..............
It won't fit through the door............
We are trying to figure out if I can even get teh rocker I want because we may not be able to get it into her room

Re: For those doing organic mattresses/bedding
I am trying to do everything organic, clothing sheets, changing table...but I am going to use the bassinet from my bugaboo that she will sleep in our room. With that, I will use organic mattress pad covers and sheets. You can definitely drive yourself crazy with this stuff!

I did 1/2 organic... I'm avoiding plastics and synthetics... I don't care if cotton is organic or not....
frankly, I think effort wise, it probably will be easier to move the crib in and out... the effort to find a whole 2nd set of stuff is

Re: For those doing organic mattresses/bedding
Graco did have an organic line not too long ago. I think they had a PNP w/bassinette, swing, and highchair. Ugh apparently they do not, I just looked at the website and nothing came back for "organic."

Ooh I will have to look for that! Thanks! I stand corrected. It was a line by Summer Infant called "Nature's Purest." There are also organic sheets & such for the play yard and bassinette, and an organic changing table pad as well.

Re: For those doing organic mattresses/bedding
I have the arm's reach mini co-sleeper and ordered an organic mattress for that. Also ordered organic sheets specifically for the co-sleeper. Check out this site: http://shop.nurturecenter.com/arrecoorma.html
They have all the organic stuff for the co-sleeper.
I also found this site for regular bassinets, but don't know as much about it because I didn't get a standard bassinet. (I do know that BBB sells organic bassinet sheets.) http://www.babyearth.com/naturepedic-mattress-naturpedic-organic-cotton-bassinet-mattress.html

Re: For those doing organic mattresses/bedding
I think they are making organic mattresses for the co-sleeper now. They didn't have them when DS was born, but I want to get one for the new baby.
