Re: For those following the Olympics and accused Chinese under-aged gymanst
I'm so glad they are doing something but I'm sure it will be half-@ssed and inconclusive.
It drives me nuts that China is getting away with this!

Re: For those following the Olympics and accused Chinese under-aged gymanst
We all know the IOC is a huge corrupted organization. Of course it would be "dismissed".
Utah was a the big blow. They just confirm it's all fixed.
For years they are allowed certain countries to host the game for international polical interest.
It's sad for the athletes.

Re: For those following the Olympics and accused Chinese under-aged gymanst
The entire women's gymnastics competition was a travesty IMO! Between the horribly incompetent judges, scoring disasters, and underage athletes, it's disgusting. All along the announcers were saying that China had a few suspiciously underage gymnasts. Last nigt it it was announced that if they can prove a gymnast is underage, she will lose her medals and China would lose their team medal.

we were commenting on this last week. I'm glad they are beng investigated she looks like a little girl with too much makeup. If they lied I hope they are caught and the gold is taken away. It should be a fair competition.

I dont think they are going to take away any of their status- i think there will be a more rigorous screening for 2012.

I agree 100%! Throughout the entire competition, the announcers on NBC were constantly commenting on how the athletes from China don't look close to being 16. I don't even think HE is even 14! She looks about 10 or 11 years old. Even Bela Karoli said there's no way those girls are 16.
It's a shame that it should come down to this but I hope the IOC really gets to the bottom of everything and if it does come to light that the Chinese team cheated they lose their medals. They wouldn't deserve it IMO.

I agree with you. the judging during the gymnastics events was horrible!!! it was so biased towards China it was disgusting!
the Olympics have really lost their integrity IMO.
another example of poor judging was at the diving events. what a crock! some of the Chinese divers getting perfect 10's completely shocked the commentators, who are all former divers and said they should have had deductions for certain body positioning.
