for those in a playgroup/mom group...
i joined a moms group a few months ago...i am starting to feel like i dont really fit in...i dont have a problem being friends with people younger or older than i am..but i feel like the group of moms arent as friendly or open to being friends with me possibly because im probably the youngest mom in the group. im 25 and all of the other moms are in their 30's even 40's...i feel as if they look at me like im a kid or something? or maybe its just the crowd of people i have nothing in common with? i also am in a playgroup and the youngest mom within the 5 in the group.... i get along well with the playgroup moms so i guess i should be happy about that. I just feel a little out of place when take my daughter to mom group events. i am not really sure what to do...i cant believe i actually feel a little sad about it! if anyone has advise or can relate or has a suggestion on what to do id love to hear your feedback.

Re: for those in a playgroup/mom group...
I don't think age alone should be a dividing issue, but if the parenting and lifestyles differ greatly from your own then it may be worth seeking out a different group. If it is just the age I'd say keep going and try to figure out what one person you feel most comfortable with and focus on making that one friendship. Trying to get to know a whole group at once is overwhelming! Once you feel a bit more comfortable with that one person, invite her and her child to an outside playdate. That will help a whole lot!
