For those of you who wear maternity bras
When you bought them, did you have yourself measured? I would like to buy some from the Penney's sale but I'm having issues with measurement. Im assuming you dont buy the size you are now - that you have to measure UP. I just do not want to spend a lot of money on bras that I dont intend to wear for a very long time. TIA.

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
i bought a few bras a few sizes bigger and have already out grown them, so i bought bra extenders- i figure there is no telling what im going to be at the end, so i am just going to wait until then to buy the nursing bras... so far the extenders have been working out excellent, and they were really inexpensive too...

if you can manage it, i would buy them only slightly bigger than you need - any larger and you are going to look floppy and be uncomfortable. an unlined bra with some stretch to it is your best bet. i have not yet had to buy any new bras because the ones i own (from georgette's) are stretchy and a bra extender for my expanding ribcage is all i need. the most important part of the fit it the band - and that can always be changed using a bra extender. i don't think you need a maternity bra but i would definitely get measured.

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
Yeah I may go just get myself measured. I generally wear and prefer under wires but I read somewhere that under wires could clog milk ducts. I am still on the fence about breast feeding, but if I am to get bras that will eventually be nursing bras as well, I should just bite the bullet, get measured and spend a lil more for comfort. Never did I think that my boobs would get me to think so much.

i heard that too but i am not worried - as long as the bra fits properly and the wire does not pinch, i don't think it will be a problem.
i don't think they make bras in my size without an underwire anyway

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
I bought a new sports bra during the pregnancy. Around 30 weeks I bought a nursing bra in the size that I was at that time. I have since gotten "professionally" measured and the size is the same as the one nursing bra I bought at 30 weeks, but the style is soooo different that the girls get much better support and coverage.

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
Don't worry too much about nursing bras now...I was 36D when I got preggo...turned into a 36DD while preggo.
nursing, still a year later, I am a 36G.
For maternity bras, I went to Destination Maternity, the lady told me exactly what size to get.

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
I am normally a 36D, I bought some bras at Walmart in a 36DD at 12 weeks. I am just starting to grow out of them now at 21 weeks and will probably just buy a couple more at Walmart to tide me over until 32 weeks or so when I will get Nursing bras. I don't see the sense in spending a lot of $$$$ on temporary bras.

Re: For those of you who wear maternity bras
I've been living in sports bras, my regular bras are so uncomfortable. I guess I should go shopping for maternity bras, but are they all nursing bras? It just seems wierd to be buying nursing bras now
