For those of you who work for a Company ...
who offers IF insurane, do you girls work for a major corporation? Do you mind sharing?
Michele(redstar) gave me the link to INCIID Website and they have a list of organizations/companies. I am curious to know if your company is listed on here.
Also, did any of you sacrifice your careers and went for a lower paying job due to the fact that they have IF coverage?
I am considering looking for a lower paying job if it means IF will be covered. Do any of you work at Talbots?
I was surprised to see that some of these companies had reimbursement for Adoption fees....eg. Starbucks in TX reimburse up to $9000.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
I started to fill out an application for Talbots, to work part-time. I don't know if you are covered for p/t but I thought I would try. Anyway I never finished the application because my new clinic says I AM covered for IVF. Plus between running my business and all these other appts. I decided it was unrealistic of me to get a p/t job on top of everything else.
But good luck -- I am sure there are more companies that cover IF than are listed too...

Judy, I think talbots or starbuck's is a great way to go, if you have to go the IVF route. Just think, that it could save you 15k....and add that to the salary....they are paying you.
Or just move back to NY and get a job with the LIRR lol They have amazing IF benefits. and I believe it's the only insurance Cornell accepts !!!

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
Yep, I may be collecting your ticket, selling you a dress, or making your GRande Green Tea Frappucino....with or without blackberry?
In all seriousness, I want a less stressful job b/c of IVF treatments I will be getting after the surgery. And I doubt a new employer with 8-5 hour work shift would be flexible with me requesting so much time off if I am a new employee.
Would anyone know about the Laws in NJ....does this apply to any employer who offers Health Coverage that they are mandated to provide IF insurance? I ask because I would consider temp work and I know agencies offer health benefits.

I think you would be a lovely ticket collector....Frappucino maker :)
From what I understand, is if the company is not 'national'....like for instance "citicorp". A company like citicorp, doesn't have to follow mandates because their employees are all over the place and it would be too costly for them to change policies for every state. However, some of these larger companies may have better benefits than the state mandates. NJ is excellent though, because IVF is part of the mandate, NY isn't as fortunate, they do provide the unlimited IUIs. MASS....is the best, I believe they have unlimited IVFs. Any interest in moving to Boston ??? lol
I can ask my dh more about this. I believe if the company has less than a certain amount of employees, they don't have to follow the mandate either.
For instance, I work for NYC...so they have to follow the state mandates. If you get a state job, they most definitely follow them.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
I work for one of those big firms (fm me for who), I got lucky and have great insurance and we can choose from Oxford/United/Aetna. Right now I have Oxford which only covers one IVF or $10,000, and all tests and such are covered 100%. Although if this IVF doesn't work, I may have to switch to United and pray they accept me based on my past infertility treatments with Oxford.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
Actually oxford, is excellent because it gives you a 10k allowance, but you will see , that although the IVF out of pocket costs 10k, the insurance will give more like 3-4 k for it. You can manage to get about 3 IVFs with Oxford. (at least two fresh, one frozen).
It's pretty shocking how much insurance pays in comparison to out of pocket.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
I live in NJ....and my old company did not have to pay for IF treatments. They were a self-insured plan...meaning they paid Aetna a certain amount of $$$ for the policy and then they got to pick and choose what was covered...and IVF was not one of them (however, they did cover 6 lifetime IUI's and the meds). Currently...I am self-employed, but I did get PG on my 5th IUI when I worked at my last company.

That's good to know, unfortunately Oxford will no longer be covering IVF's at RMA of NY, Dr. Copperman explained it to me as to why, but I forgot the facts...however they do take United which is also offered to me.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
I'm gonna post this on the other coverage thread too cause it pertains to both.
I work for a "national", so state mandates don't count. It wasn't my clinic that toldme it isn't covered--I looked it up on my own. My company has benefits renewals every July were I can change plans if I want, or I'm locked in to mine another year.
I have HIP now and it only covers treating the causes of infertility 100%, not IVFs or any inseminations.
I saw Aetna on there that covers 100% after copay with a lifetime max of $25,000 for anything. I was thinking of switching. I may never need it, but then again I might and I don't wanna be stuck waiting out the time to change my insurance.
Interestingly enough, my husband has Oxford, which I'm under, and it sounds like they have good coverage. How much towards these things do you get from your spouses insurance?
Can you really work PT at Starbucks and get those kinds of benefits? Wow.

Re: For those of you who work for a Company ...
The problem with HIP or some oxford plans, is that you need referrals for RE's etc, that could get frustrating. You also may be restricted to go to certain RE's if your ob/gyn is associated with them (same hospital associations etc).
My dh has Oxford Freedom, and I have GHI. After I exhaust my insurance, and if I need to, I will then transfer under my dh's insurance. Not sure if I am correct, but I believe if you are under his insurance, you can utilize the coverage.
Aetna, I am pretty sure is one of the few insurance plans accepted by NYU (excellent clinic).
RMA is probably not accepting Oxford anymore because of the small amount they pay for the IVF lol For instance, I was seeing a doctor at Cornell, who accepted my insurance GHI...but now, no longer does. He doesn't need it , anymore. When a clinic or a doctor is prestigious enough, I think they try to move away from insurance. It's really frustrating.
