For those that aren't finding out the gender...

Are you as surprised as I am that unless you want your baby wearing ducks everyday, you have to save shopping till after the birth.

We went outlet shopping today, and there is really nothing out there. Even at osh gosh, the overalls and jeans are gender specific. I found a little denim jacket that was cute, but other then that, and pjs at childrens place, it is so limited.

I haven't really looked yet. That's disappointing! People tell me that I'll get so many outfits once the baby's born, that I shouldn't worry or buy too much now.

you can go with green and yellows, denim or khaki bottoms, but in all honesty.....it's SO much easier to keep them in knit one pieces in the beginning. The 2 piece outfits are a PITA until they are older.

thanks. I have been loading up on one pieces. My boy is going to look a little girly and my girl is going to look a little boyish. No trucks or hearts until 6-9 mosChat Icon

My feeling is that, any clothes I need to buy in advance for the first few weeks, they'll outgrow after a few weeks anyway! So I'll have plenty of time to buy 3/6/9 month gender specific clothes after the birth.

I didn't buy any clothes before she was born, except a few onesies. I got a few unisex outfits at my shower, but I didn't love them.

Since Ella's birth, I have been inundated with clothes. There's PINK everywhere. I've bought her ONE outfit, and her closet is packed. She doesn't need another thing for summer.

moral of the story - don't go crazy shopping. You'll get a lot once he/she is born.

This is exactly what happened when my son was born.

Re: For those that aren't finding out the gender...

Im not going to buy anything. The best thing about NOT knowing the gender is the baby shower- you will get neutral, pink and blue clothes. Which is WONDERFUL for the next one too. when you know the sex all you get is either blue or pink and then you have NO extra clothes for the next baby! For the bedding I havent checked yet but you can always return it after the baby is born to get a gender specific set anyhow. Im going with winnie the pooh so it can go either way. good luck!

I haven't really bought too many clothes. Just a onesie here and there. I guess I will see once I have my shower. Lots of yellow and green!

i am so sick of ducks and the baby isn't even here yet! we got a few onesies and things like that at the shower, not a ton though.

i'm praying that we get lots of gender specific clothes as gifts once the baby is here, otherwise i'll be doing lots of laundry!
