? For those that ordered breast pumps from Edge Park
How long did it take to hear back from them to find out if the insurance approved it?
Did anyone have luck ordering early? I am only in my 2nd tri and the guy at Edge park said some ins com wont approve it until after LO is born which doesnt make sense since you might need it right away.
Thanks

My insurance didn't cover it, but they let me know within 2-3 business days. You should get your approval within the same time frame.
Many girls on here got their pumps early in their pregnancy, so I don't think it matters when you order it. If insurance covers it, they will ship it to you right away.

I got mine the day after i got back from the hospital. they shipped it overnight. My doctor only signes the form after delivery. He's office called Edgepark the day after i delivered. Pump came day after.

Thanks girls!
Do they always require authorization from the doctor or is that something that is up to the insurance company?
I have Empire and i know they cover it but nobody ever mentioned the dr approval.

They got back to me in 2 days and about 2 days later there was a pump at my doorstep. I was probably around 20 weeks when I called

Re: ? For those that ordered breast pumps from Edge Park
I called them a LONG time ago to find out, and they said my insurance only covers a 10% discount on them, nothing more. Now that I've chosen what pump I want, I'm going to see if it's cheaper through them or through amazon.
My OB actually said not to get one until AFTER the baby is born, but I was talking to a good friend and BTDT mom of 3 who said definitely to have it at home and ready to go as soon as you get home from the hospital because she said engorgement is really painful and you can relieve it yourself that way. I don't plan to pump very often (I'll be a SAHM) so I'm just getting a single electric pump so I can store some so DH can feed the baby sometimes, and also if I ever need to pump & dump, etc.
Mostly unrelated side note: That same BTDT mom has a clogged duct this week (she's got a 4-month old at home) and is horrible pain... neither here nor there, but she says having the baby nurse more has been very helpful and it's clearing up on its own!
