For those who applied for permits for work on your house...

I know every town is different-- but did anyone have a problem if the Architectural Review Board approved, and then their permit didn't come through?

Also, how long did it take from the ARB meeting til getting the permit?

We are finally going to redo our sunroom and would like work to start no later than first week in Nov. Although, that's prob not happening...

Our town is a little different - you have to submit everything and then go to a zoning board meeting.

We got approved within 2 weeks of the meeting since we had all of the appropriate paperwork together (some others who were there the same day had to come back to the next meeting because they didn't have all of the appropriate information).

my cousin bought LAST November in Port Washington, had all the architechtural (SP?) drawings by xmas and they are STILL waiting for permits. Not sure how exactly it works, but I know they still haven't started construction there...Chat Icon

that sounds awful!

The town building inspector told me that we should expect the permit no later than 1st week in Nov, but-- I guess you never know what can happen. Our ARB meeting was last week.

I gotta get the sunroom done before winter and new baby's arrival!!
