For those who had an ingrown toenail removed.......
How long did you have to wait before getting a pedicure again?
As you can see, I have my priorities in check!!
ETA: and while I have the attention of anyone who has had an ingrown toenail removed.........
How long did it take for the toe to look normal? and how long were you in pain after the procedure?
I had it done a few hours ago so it's still numb!! Just wondering what I have to "look forward" to

Yikes!! I actually did the same, but I made it worse!!
I made an appt with the podiatrist (my first time seeing one .. EVER) .. and figured I'd get some kind of cream to put on it. Next thing I know, I'm signing waivers and getting my toe numbed with a needle for the procedure!!! And let me say.. needles in the belly hurt way less!!

it took about 6 weeks to grow in...but then because the nail was so week it actually fell off and regrew. so it was months before i had a pedicure.

Re: For those who had an ingrown toenail removed.......
i didn't have an ingrown, but i had a nail removed last october. it was totally grown in around june of this year. so 8 months.
i didn't dare attempt a pedicure until it was almost all in--didn't want to traumatize the area at all and it was so sensitive for weeks.

I would wait until it is not sensitive. Just remember that they slam that metal thing into you cuticles and sides of the nail to get the skin away
As far as it looking normal, I am sure it will be a few weeks. But if yours are bad, it's more about them FEELING normal than looking normal. You will be glad you had it done!

I was laughing at the posts, because I don't want my toenail to look normal. I like that 1/4 of it is chopped off and dont want it to regrow - because then I know it's not causing me pain!

Re: For those who had an ingrown toenail removed.......
aww thanks so much everyone!!
My toe is looking back to normal now Of course now I'm noticing that other toenails are hurting and feeling like they're ingrown
I have a followup tomorrow so I'm gonna ask if I'm good to get a pedicure. I want one so bad I had a DREAM about having pretty toenails.
