For those who had internal sonograms...
Before your internal sonograms, were you told to drink a lot of water and hold it for the test??
I was talking to a friend earlier who said she had never heard of that for an internal...anyone?

No I didn't have to do that at all. One of my friends did - years ago though...as in 10 yrs ago when she had the internal. She was surprised that I didn't have to drink fluid too. But I just had my 4th internal sono this morning and I've never had to drink anything.

They actually had me empty my bladder for my internal sonograms.

This was my experience as well
I had to have quite a few internal sonograms for my endometriosis and other issues (not related to TTC) and anytime I had an internal sono, I was urged to empty my bladder
I am not sure what the standard procedure is on this and maybe it depends on what they are looking for . i.e, whether they prefer your bladder full or empty .. so I suppose all I would say is to just follow your present doctors advice for this teset

The only time I had to drink was when I was PG and having a regular (external) songram. All internals have been without a full bladder.

When my GYN thought I had cysts (didn't) I had an internal and external. I had to drink TONS of water and hold it - when your bladder is full is when they can see wahtever it is they are looking at for this.
Then I emptied (like a racehorse!!!) and they did the internal I think.
It's not bad, just uncomfy holding all the H20.
