For those who have hardwood/tile floors and pets...
What do you use to clean up the shedding?
I don't actually have a pet, but I shed like an animal. I'm not even kidding. My hair is all over my house. It clusters in corners and collects dust. When I sweep it up, it just sticks to the broom. I have a shark cordless sweeper and a bissell mini-vac and the "cone", and they're ok, but I think I need something that can really get into the corners.
I don't need a big 'ol vacuum because I don't have carpeting except for one area rug in DD"s nursery.
Any suggestions?

I use a swiffer for all the dog hair that piles up and then I go over everything with my Dyson Vaccum

I also shed, I'm surprised at the amount of hair that is on my head with all the strands that fall off of it
I vaccumm everyday. Its the only thing that helps. I have all hardwood floors & a cat.

We swiffer or use the dustbuster to get the tumbleweeds of dog fur (and some of my hair I am sure!) and then we vacuum everything. We have hardwood with area rugs in all rooms and our vacuum can be used on both without adjusting anything manually.

My aunt has 4 golden retrievers so you can imagine the kind of dog hair around the house!
She actually installed a central vac system to make it easier. Just plug in the vac and suck up the hair...then empty a giant bin in the basement 1ce a month.

Re: For those who have hardwood/tile floors and pets...
I have 3 dogs!! One that sheds really bad, the other 2 don't but...I sweep the entire space then I dry swift then suck it all up with my kurve. I mop too with a microfiber mop b/c their paw prints are all over along with their drool. I find myself doing it every day. Days I wish we never switched over from carpet b/c carpet was so much easier but, I like the look of the wood floors.

We use the roomba in between major vaccuums to try and keep up with the shedding.

OMG...4!! I have one and I thought his shedding was bad...I can't imagine 4!!
I actually have a Dyson Ball for Pets. I don't swiffer because I find that it really doesn't get all of the hair.

Re: For those who have hardwood/tile floors and pets...
I have the bissell healthy home vacuum. I only have 2 small area rugs but i love having the vacuum. It also helps with the dust - I know you are in Brooklyn so I would think you get a lot of dust like me in Queens I am obsessed with vacuuming my baseboards - my cat's hair makes little bunnies in the corners and the bissell gets them right up.
I think a real vacuum is best for hair, I vacuum all my hardwood and tile floors - its good for picking up crumbs in the kitchen too.
Edited to add: I also love the vacuum for getting the little bits between my hardwood floors. My floors are old and there are some cracks where settling has occurred. A dry vac, sweeper, steam mop, etc. in my opinion don't clean these crevices as well.
