Went away to college and started paying own rent at 20 (moved off campus) and was out of the house since...except for a 6 month stint before my wedding that was torture!

I was 21. I had graduated from college the week before and I moved to DC to start working. After working in DC for 3 years I moved back home to attend law school for 3 years. I moved out of my parents house when I got married the August after I graduated. I graduated in June 05 and got married in August 05. DH and I moved in together into his apartment after the HM for about a month and a half and then we purchased our home in October 05.

I moved out on my own when I was 22 because my dad moved to VA and I didn't want to go. DH and I moved in together when I was 25 and we got married when I was 28.

I moved out and went to law school and lived in school housing after college. After school I lived with a roomate for 1 1/2 years before moving in with DH. DH and I lived together for 2 years before getting married.

I lived away at school for 5 years (completed my Masters degree too) and once I graduated and had a job, I got my own apartment. I lived on my own for 5 years, before buying a house with my then boyfriend (now DH  ). Then I got engaged and married. A little out of order, but it worked!

I went straight from school to marriage.
Parents paid for my undergrad degree, but then i got loans for grad school.

I went away to college at 18, but my parents helped pay for that & I lived at home for the summers & then about 10 months after graduation I moved out.
I was 22.

I was 26 when I moved out but I was in graduate school and then working as a counselor at very low pay. I lived on my own for 8 years before meeting DH.

I lived on my own since College... though my parents footed the bill. When I graduated I moved to Philadelphia and lived on my own for about 6 years in downtown Philly...

I moved out of my mother's house in October of 1998
That would've made me 22.
I moved in with a college friend in Astoria- a great 2 bedroom apartment. I stayed there until two weeks b/f we got married, then DH and I moved to NJ.
I am really happy that I had that time to learn and grow. I can't imagine going from my mom's to being with my husband.

I was 19 and I lived on my own for 1 year. It was great & it was a also tough since I had to work full time to make money for rent & food. But it was a great experience since it taught me to be very independent. I had to fend for myself even though my parents would have helped me out financially, I decided to go on my own.
