For those who needed steroids to mature baby's lungs

1.Do the steroids effect the baby's size (causing it to be bigger) as it matures the lungs?
2. Is this true? One round of steroids matures the baby's lungs by 1 week after 48 hours.

I think they just mature the lungs, that's what I was told anyway. Not sure how much they mature them, I had one shot and then one shot 24 hours later.

Its only to mature the lungs. I was given the shot around my 29th week because they thought they may have to take my baby out. I ended up giving birth (induced) exactly on my 34th week. She weighed only 3 lbs when she was born but never had any problem. Although she had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks to gain weight (over 4 lbs to be discharged), maintain temperature, and i think regarding feeding.
