For those whose kids have eczema...
did you take them to a dermatologist to confirm what your pediatrician said, or just went based on what your ped's diagnosis?
TIA

Re: For those whose kids have eczema...
I took DS to a dermatologist after my ped just to make sure. He confirmed it was eczema.

same. DD has little patches of eczema pop up every once in a while, we use cerave cream on a daily basis. when it's bad we use a steriod cream prescribed by the ped.

Re: For those whose kids have eczema...
DS had it really really bad on his stomach about 2 months ago. We went and he confirmed it was eczema, I pretty much knew because my sister gets it bad and I have a few patches. He gave us the prescription cream and it worked for a day or two then came back. We then switched to Aveeno soap and lotion and I switched to the free and clear laundry soap and it hasn't come back.

Just went with ped.
But I noticed it when DS was about 6 months old. And it was very mild.

Re: For those whose kids have eczema...
My ped referred to it as contact dermatitis, the derm called it eczema. He gave us this awesome prescription moisturizer called Elotone or something and whatever it was slowly went away. He now has a perfectly soft and chubby baby face again!
