For those with DC's with extremely dry skin...do you put aquaphor/other ointments on diaper area?

Every night I put Aquaphor all over Madison's body. It has really helped with her dry skin, but now the area right under the top of her diaper is really rashy and the sides of her hips where the diaper rubs is really rashy and dry too. I always assumed that if I put Aquaphor down there it would make diaper rash worse, but now I'm thinking I should just put it all over her....can I use Aquaphor on the diaper rash area?

yup, you sure can.

the only time that any cream/ointment ever made a diaper rash worse in my experience has been if I applied the cream/ointment on an area that was wet and not dry.

Yes. I put it on her diaper area the minute I see it's a little red. It clears up by the next change.

She hasn't had a full blown diaper rash since she cut her first tooth at 8 months.

My dd has eczema, i was using aveeno lotion but they it just started to stop working, so i just started using Aquaphor ointment it works nice on her body.

For her diaper area I use Aveeno diaper rash cream.. works amazingly, its new and I love it...

I use the Aquaphor on his body (like his buttocks) for his eczema and in the tushy hole area if it's red I use desitin or triple paste. But, I bet the Aquaphor would be great anywhere! It's very mild but VERY moisturizing!
