For those with office jobs...
Do you find yourself zoning out alot? I catch myself so many times consistantly zoning out. If I am working on a report I notice that I stop every 2-3 minutes, whether it is an actual distraction or a thought pops into my head. So strange!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am only like this at work though. I'm not sure if it is relation to me working in front of a computer all day. I cant hold my concentration Is this normal?

I work best under pressure/deadlines. When I'm not busy I totally zone off and stare into space. I seriously will just stare at my screen and not be able to move for like 2 minutes. When I get like this I go for a 15 minute walk outside.
I've been on two walks today!

I tend to surf the net for too long and realize I haven't done any work.....somehow it never occurs to me that I'm at work and have stuff to do !! My heads just focused on whatever stuff I'm looking up.

I reckon that having an office job is like a lifestyle thing. During my commute into work I always think...once I get to my desk with my tea or coffee in the morning, its a bit like getting back into bed, back into your comfort zone. The office is like somewhere you live...I mean you are there what, 8 hours a day. So you do some work, you gab with your friends, you look at the internet, you have lunch, you do some more work, you make some phone calls, get a few mugs of char, gab with the girls, go into a meeting, do some more work, etc etc.....
I don't think the powers that be expect you to have your nose to the grindstone for all 8 hours of your working day (at least mine don't, I work in the worlds most laid back office anyway)

I like to stay busy & when things are slow at work (like they have been), I do find myself zoning out & not concentrating. I think it is perfectly normal especially since I am in front of the computer for 8 hours. I try to take walks throughout the day just to get away...
