Ford Escape problems?
I have a 2005 Ford Escape and am having trouble with the gas tank. It always clicks and takes forever to fill it. Ford cant figure it out. First they said it was a filter tube, then they said the gauge was broke and now they say it may need a new tank They have had my car for a week and I am getting annoyed that they cant even figure out how to fix their own vehicle. Just wondering if anyone else had similar problems?

I have an Explorer that needs to go in for maintenance. I use Wantagh... Which location did you visit? I hope you're not having trouble with Wantagh... I'm scared now!!!

I hate to tell you, but yes its the Ford dealer in Wantagh. I have never had problems with them till now, but its kinda scary that they cant figure this out after a week.

I have on 05 Escape and I never had any problems. I also got my truck from my father in Copiague.

unless they can duplicate the same issue there with the computer hooked up- it's hard for them to figure it out
I would take my old car to the dealer with the same problem all the time- and it would never do it for them
one time it didn't start - as I was leaving- (that was the problem) but there was nothing they could do b/c the computer wasn't hooked up

I have (knock on wood) never had an issue with my Ford nor my Ford Dealer. Except for a minor one where they decided to drive my crushed car 50 miles instead of trucking it.

DH had the SAME problem with the tank in his car, but his is an 06'. They fixed it within a day though. They replaced some sort of valve, but I have no clue what it was called. DH didn't go to his Ford dealer though....just a local mechanic.

I have a ford escale (03) and luckily have not had any problems with it -- just routine maintenance. Can you take it to a different ford dealership? Or possibly call ford themselves and ask them what they'd recommend and talk about how it is an ongoing problem? They might suggest another dealership or at least work more with your dealer to help them figure out the problem. Certainly it is unacceptable for them to not be able to fix the problem if it still keeps reoccuring.

thats the problem. I cant take it to my regulkar mechanice beacuse its still under waranty and if i bring it elsewhere that voids the warranty

His is under warranty as well. I'm not sure how it works, but he can go to a regular mechanic as long as he keeps all receipts and has his car inspected at the dealership shortly afterwards...
