Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
I forgot to tell you guys this story.
Went to get BW done at Labcorp last cycle. I needed a hcg and progesterone. This woman was working there and sat on the phone for about 5 minutes after I stood there waiting for her. She looks at my bloodwork order and says are you pregnant? I say no. Then she says, did you have a miscarriage-I say no. Why are you asking me all these questions. No one ever asks me questions when I get bloodwork done. She had nothing to say. Basically she was being nosy. How innappropriate! I was so pizzed. I felt like saying, well nosy ****** I am trying to conceive after 3 miscarriages and an ectopic in which I lost a tube
Oh and then she also couldn't find my vein and dug her needle around in my arm until i had a HUGE bruise. I was going to complain but then I worried about her getting fired. I am sure this is against their rules...

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
Yup I had almost the same thing happen to me.. I walked in to LC with my prescript for HCG and she goes.. Oh you are PG.. I said "nope".. oh than what is the problem.. I said I can't get pg and I am having a HSG (really snotty).. and she looked at me and said "oh I am sorry I even asked".. I said "me too".
I hate going to those lab places.. I love the fact I can get most of my blood work done at NSUH.
Sorry you had to go through that.

How horrible!
I know you don't want to get her fired, but if it was me, I just might report her. She was completely inappropriate. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I know but I feel like it wasn't malice she is just probably a nosy person but I guess I should say something so that she doesn't upet people when they come in. I usually go to Sunrise and they NEVER ask me questions.

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
That's why I'm so happy that I get my blood done right at the RE's and don't have to go to a lab. Not to say that sometimes the girls there don't make a stupid comment when talking to eachother.
When I had all my initial bloodwork done by my OB last year, I went to Quest and told the lab tech that I was terrified of needles and wanted my husband there. So while she's working on finding my vein, and I'm near tears she asks us if we have kids. I said no, and she says "Well then god help you when you do if you can't even handle this" I looked right at her and said "well, that's the reason we're here, I CAN'T GET PREGNANT!" She was a complete dumbazz

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
Lab Corp STINKS! I hate them I go to one in Queens and the last time I was there, the woman decided to stroll in at 8:05 AM instead of 7:30 AM- there was a line of people waiting! Now, LabCorp is trying to bill me for services they're too lazy to correct the dx code for. They S UCK.
Sorry Melissa!

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
Well, I think you should report her, no doubt. If she's inappropriate, you need to have her called out. I don't think she'll lose her job over one person complaining and maybe she'll learn a lesson.
Sorry this happened to you, babes

So sorry you had to deal with that. You really think she would know better. You really never know someones situation, and she needs to keep her mouth shut. I'd say something, just so she learns a lesson. It's about YOUR privacy, not her job!!

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
Sorry to crash!
I had a problem with LC. I went to have my beta levels checked after my miscarriage and the tech was so nosy and rude about my situation.
I hate when people state the obvious and all she said to me was, "You had a miscarriage." Not a question but a statement.
I was stunned, especially since it was not followed by what I thought would be the obligatory "I'm sorry."
Anyway I had a billing issue with them and when I was on the phone with the company I told on her.
I am pretty strong emotionally but if I wasn't, she could have really crushed me.
Some people need sensitivity training. I am sorry that happened to you.

Re: Forgot to tell you-Bloodwork related
Wow, I thought it was just me and bad luck with LC. Since I live so far from my RE sometimes I use LC to do bloodwork instead of driving an hour to his office. During my last miscarriage I had to go in weekly for blood draws to make sure my hcg was falling and I encountered idiot after idiot. Are you pregnant each one would ask. No, I'm not. So why are you having this test they go on to ask. Does it matter? My diagnosis is written on the form, there is no need to ask my anything.
Twice they lost my results. And no matter how big the nurse at my RE writes "STAT" on the rx they never, ever got my results sent back the same day.
Lately, I've just been making the long trip down to White Plains because honestly, I just don't have the patience to deal with LabCorp anymore.
