Formula question

I am primarily breastfeeding - but am also supplementing with formula now and then. I have the ready made formula that can be refridgerated. My issue is - the bottle says to use within 72 hours - it has been 72 hours and we still have half of it left. Do I really have to not use it anymore after 72 hours? Thanks!
