My ped wants me to keep her on the iron, he said it is important when she is so young (she is a month)

I swear by it as well. Get the brown sugar from any Korean Market.

Re: Formula Question

When my middle guy was on formula he to was on similac advance w/ iron and I found swtiching from RTF to powder helped and also my ped recommended giving him 2-4oz of Apple juice (straight) 1-2x a day and that's when my son was only about 2mos.

Re: Formula Question

Soy formula constipated my DD even more. After going through 7 different formulas, we are finally on Similac Sensitive and all is well in the poopy department again.

Re: Formula Question

Karo syrup should work the same as brown sugar water...both are sugar...how are you giving it to her? Sugar ferments in the intestines and creates a natural laxative...I used to just boil water with regular sugar in it making a simply syrup. I forget the exact mixture though.

I just add the karo syrup right into the formula

Maybe try giving her a bottle of say 2oz of water with the Karo...

Re: Formula Question

My son was on Similac Advance with Iron for the first 4 weeks and had huge gas issues. He woudl get so uncomfortable and wake up crying. I spoke to my ped who said our issues didnt sound like they were lactose related so she suggested we try Good Start. well it took a little more than a week, but he is so much better.

I would talk to your ped, soy is not always the answer.
