Freezing avocados
Has anyone done it? I bought a five pack bag to put in cookies I was planning to make for St. Patrick's day but ended up not using them. They are very ripe and I would hate for them to go bad.

Freezing avocados
I've frozen them when I was making baby food...but I take the flesh out and freeze it that way in sealed containers. The top will turn a little brown if exposed to air but its fine (or you can scrape off).
I've never frozen in the skin though.

Freezing avocados
Thanks. I had five big avocados. So that's too much for guac or tacos for two people before they go bad. I did freeze them last night. I scooped out the pulp, cut into small pieces, put them in a zip lock bag in one layer and put the zip lock bags in the freezer. I used couple of pieces in a smoothie this morning. There was some brown color but I didn't mind since I plan to use them in only smoothies.
