Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
Right to freezer.
If you haven't learned the tip... I love Lansinoh bags and freeze them flat on their sides. Then when frozen, they store like index cards.

Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
I usually kept it in the refrigerator and every 2 days I would transfer it to freezer bags. (I could fill a bag plus some pumping, so I couldn't pump directly into bags)
medela bags are awful. Gerber were much better - never tried the lansinoh, but it sounds like they may be similar to the gerber.
ETA: I think medela changed their bags in the middle of DS#2 - to the ziplock? the twist ties were the worst!

Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
That is a lot of milk
I used the Gerber bags and the Lansinoh. The lansinoh won hands down and yes, straight to the freezer when filled. You can combine pumping sessions to fill the bag, you just use the first session for dating purposes.

Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
I always stored the milk in the Medela bottles for a few days. If I knew I wasn't going to use the milk, then I'd transfer it after a few days to a Lansinoh freezer bag and put it in the freezer.

Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
I read somewhere that you should put it in the fridge for a few hours to cool down then into the freezer. Something about putting warm milk into the freezer directly. I was putting it directly into the freezer.

Re: Freezing Breast Milk?
ive done both with no problems...I would usually put in fridge and swap out older pumped milk ...so since it lasts at least a week in the fridge, I would pump and put toward the back...and put the ones up front (the older) in the freezer..this way I always had fresh ready to go! I tried to keep 3-4 bottles ready to go at all times!
