better on the door or inside taking up shelf space?

our first fridge with french doors had the ice making in the freezer part. you had to pull the freezer open to get ice.
our new french door fridge has the water and ice on the door. i love this fridge!!! the ice maker doesn't take up that much room in the fridge.

we have the LG LFX28978, which has the ice maker built into the door and LOVE this refrigerator!!

It's funny I was going to say the opposite. I find the fridge space so much bigger than the freezer space. I have the ice on the freezer shelf but in hindsight I would rather have lost that space in the fridge.

Mine is in the freezer draw and there is
plenty of space for food. Units with door ice
makers cost more.

We have it in the freezer. I am not really a fan of "on the door" water/ice makers because I feel like my DS would constantly be pulling chairs up to it to use it. 
My freezer space is great as well.
