Fresh Cycle vs. Frozen
Thoughts and opinions?
I am new to IVF. I had 2 failed IUIs and then took some time off from seeing an RE. I decided to go back to Dr. Braverman and he suggests IVF since we have been TTC for a year with no success.
It looks like I have some immune issues along with mild PCOS and thrombo. So instead of doing a fresh cycle we are going to do the ER and then freeze while taking care of the immune issues.
So what are you thoughts and opinions and experiences with Fresh vs Frozen?

Fresh Cycle vs. Frozen
I think fresh has slightly higher success rates, but many girls on here got pregnant with frozen cycles.
Best of luck!!

Re: Fresh Cycle vs. Frozen
It depends on the technique that they use to freeze them. If they are using vitrification, success rates are the same. At RMA, they told me they actually have better success with FETs because they ovaries are not hyperstimmed and they can better regulate your hormone levels.

I was just going by what I had seen on SART, but never spoke to the doctor, so you probably know better.
That is really interesting!!

Re: Fresh Cycle vs. Frozen
Vitrification is a must! Otherwise I would either switch plans or clinics.
Look @ the SART data for fresh vs. frozen stats.
ETA: If thrombo is an issue, FET could stand to help because high estrogen levels (like when you stimulate the ovaries for IVF) thicken the blood.

This is interesting. Dr B told me the same exact thing. I have positive ANA and cytokines. He recommended straight to IVF, doing an ER in the next 2 months and then treating immune issues in the meantime. What immune issues do you have?

Not sure yet, but I think elevated NKT cells and cykotines. They only got the partial results from my Immune Panel. I will know more once they get the full results.

His SART data is unavailable. The lab does do vitrification and Iw as told success rates were identical. My fresh cycle failed and I just got pregnant via a frozen cycle.

Yes, when I asked about the success rate % difference between fresh and frozen I was told it is minimal.

Fresh Cycle vs. Frozen
I think if they use vitrification which most clinics do now, the success rates are the same. I got pregnant with both my fresh and frozen cycles. Good luck!
