I think my daughter only pooped in her underwear once or twice in her life and I just toss them...buy cheap undies

Has she ever gone poo on the potty. She may be afraid to do it one the potty. One of my girls was. I had to do without undies for a day or two. Then if she had to go I would sit on the ground and tell her there is nothing to be afraid of.

Sounds like she's not ready. My DD never had a poop accident and had 2 pee accidents. My DS had 1 poop accident and it was totally my fault.

Re: From your experience...(potty-training related)
When DD seemed ready, we picked a 3 day weekend and made no plans. For 3 days she wore only a shirt and socks (no underwear/pants/pull ups ) She went pee pee every time on potty and pooped on bathroom floor one time) She has been in underwear ever since and so far no accidents..She just turned 2 when we did that and now she is 3..They really need to be ready or it can be very drawn out and stressful. Best of luck to you!!

Re: From your experience...(potty-training related)
DD pooped a handful of times in them. She was so used to running around the house and going into her room and going so we had to work on breaking the habit. We just watched for her normal routine and then gave her a bit and stuck her on. Now she does it without a problem.

Has she ever gone poo on the potty. She may be afraid to do it one the potty. One of my girls was. I had to do without undies for a day or two. Then if she had to go I would sit on the ground and tell her there is nothing to be afraid of.
She has gone on the potty twice now. Once was a COMPLETE surprise...my DH had taken her to the bathroom in Salsarita's and she started freaking out and didn't want to sit. Once he finally got her to sit, she went. Then, about a week ago, she went on the potty again...totally freaked out about it AGAIN. I had to sit there and rub her legs and sing to her while she went
So, I definitely think she's scared to go on the potty. The pee has been NO problem...she asks several times a day, goes most of those times, and only had one accident today (but it was Christmas and she was WAY distracted, so I get it).
I don't know...I decided not to push potty-training...I followed DD's cues that she was ready...but she's just very freaked out about the whole poo thing and I'm not sure what I can do to make it better, if anything...I think she just needs a few successes in a row to see that there's nothing to be afraid of.
Thanks so much for all the words of encouragement...I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this! Maybe I'll save the pretty Children's Place underwear in the back of the drawer for a few months

Re: From your experience...(potty-training related)
DS had several poop accidents. He did better pooping on his little kiddie potty in the beginning. So far the last 2 days he's pooped on the regular potty. We just trained him a couple of weeks ago.
ETA: I've also had to sing and read to him while he's trying to poop!

Take the undies off if you are at home and keep the potty nearby. That's how we got my son to start going - he was naked from the bottom down.

Re: From your experience...(potty-training related)
DD had 2 accidents when potty training, both poop. 1 the first day and 1 the second day. Since then she hasn't had any accidents.

Liam had 3 #2 accidents. 2 the first two days, then 1 a week later...but hasn't had an accident in almost a 1.5 now.

I think I'm going to try this starting tomorrow. Too bad it's December, huh? I'll just crank the heat for a week and put a sweatshirt and slippers on her Thanks for the idea!!
