frosting question
I have a recipe for black and white cookies. It has a recipe for the frosting. Can I just take a shortcut and buy the premade frosting? Will it harden? I know, I'm being lazy.

Re: frosting question
I dont think it will. I think you should use their recipe since it needs to harden and is probably made with confectioners sugar. i think the other way might turn out to be a mess. I am always baking and I have tried a few shortcuts over the years that tend to not work,...

Re: frosting question
I probably wouldn't use it although it would probably still taste good. The outside will stiffen a little bit...but not be the same consistency as a real black and white!

Re: frosting question
I wouldn't use frosting . . . I would use icing (simply milk and confectioners sugar). It works much better on the b&w cookie than frosting (I tried). And I would use store-bought frosting; icing is very very easy to make.
