Fruit flies
Why do I feel like there is so much more around this year! Gross! I keep a very clean kitchen ,but the moment I cut a banana in half and cover it I still will get fruit flies. I have to stop taking pieces b.c my DS won't eat a full so I say the other half.
Anyone else get this?

Re: Fruit flies
OMG the same in my kitchen! Always this time of year too. I also have to "split" a banana with DD so I don't get them! It's so annoying!

Re: Fruit flies
Me too :(
It's like they will only go away if there is no fruit out, counter sprayed and wiped, and the trash can is empty. Also sink has to be scrubbed and no scraps in drain!

Re: Fruit flies
They are bad for me too! I found a great solution - 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, splash of water, and a squirt of dish soap in a bowl. The flies go in and drown. I only have a couple flying around now!

Re: Fruit flies
Ugh - I hate them!
My friend from HI says they are really common there and they all usually have to put their fruit and bananas in the fridge.

Fruit flies
i find red wine does the trick. I hate to waste wine, but I put some in a bowl with saran wrap and some holes. I woke up in the morning to 10 in the bowl.

I was going to say this works, but I put a pc of fruit or some orange juice. Don't waste the wine!

This is what I do too! Totally works! I have a small dish of the concoction on my kitchen counter.

Re: Fruit flies
I had that problem too and I cleaned my sink drain with white vinegar and baking soda it helps clean out the drains and I also noticed a huge decrease in them.
