Frustrated with OPK
I've been waiting for the dark surge line since Wed or Thurs of last week...I'm continuing to test every morning, but for the past two days I'm barely getting a ref line, which is forcing me to test 2x a day. It's just a blank window. Rrrr...such a waste of money! To boot, tests that are a few days old are now showing +OPK. Are they even accurate?
Some CM and cramping happened almost a week ago...

Re: Frustrated with OPK
OPKs should be taken in the afternoon, not with FMU.
Also, tests that are a few days old are not accutrate.

Re: Frustrated with OPK
What kind of tests are you using. The CBE digital ones (with the ) really take all the guess work out of it.
I would recommend using afternoon pee which you've held for at least 4 hours as the pp said.
I got my a week after I thought I was supposed to

Re: Frustrated with OPK
OPK's are frustrating and add up$. I agree with the PP the digital OPK's are much easier to use.

Re: Frustrated with OPK
I had so many problems with OPKs... This cycle, I used THREE different methods to pinpoint ovulation.
I think you just gotta start using them early and past ovulation so you don't miss anything.
Also I found when I was ovulating, I did use FMU and got clearly positive results (dark line and smiley). Buyt, you just gotta blanket the area with the testing and the BDing! We'll see if this approach proves successful in a week and a half for me.

Re: Frustrated with OPK
OMG - I was just going to post about this. Definitely go with the digital! Clear cut and definitive answer!
I know that the digital OPK is the way to go, but being that we aren't trying this month (have to wait 1 cycle after a recent D&C) I thought I would buy a cheaper OPK just to get an idea when I am ovulating (or even if I am ovulating after the D&C)...
Anyway, I bought something like these in KMart. $19.99 for 20 test strips in a pink box... The Brand was Answer Dip Strips. I started last night and the CONTROL LINE didn't even darken... Ugh - I was sooo annoyed. What a waste of $20!
Anyone ever use them?

Agreed! I used the line OPKs this month after running out of digitals & they were too frustrating to me.
I hope you get your +OPK soon. Sometimes the wait to O can be just as frustrating as the 2WW.

Re: Frustrated with OPK
Thanks ladies. Last month I was successful with this brand. This month not so much...it is possible I haven't O'd yet, but I doubt it. We were holding out on BD waiting for the surge line, but it never came, and now it might be too late. I'm out of pee sticks too...
