FTWMs: Are you finding it hard as your kids are getting older scheduling activities/sports, etc
My kid are still little but this is one area where I think the flexibility of working retail hours will be on my side

I refuse to be stressed out rushing my kids from activity to activity. they both have a 30 minute swim lesson on Saturdays and that's it.
I feel like there's this immense pressure to put your kids in a million activities and if you don't, somehow your kids are being deprived.

I agree, to an extent. But my DS does only one activity. It's just that that one activity is 3 times a week. If he had stuck with playing goalie it would have been 4 times a week because there's a special goalie clinic one night a week.

and my situation is different because I pretty much operate like a single mom. I applaud those moms who can do it all, but for me personally, taking my children to activities multiple times a week would stress me out.

I AM and single mom aside from every other weekend when ex DH has my DDs. DD is in 6th grade and has a lot of homework and tests. By the time we are all home at 5pm it's walk the dog, dinner, more hw, showers, clean up, play outside, bed at 9. I like to spend time with my DDs and eat healthy home cooked meals together. That's always been more important to me than extracurricular activities. They do each do one or 2 activities on the weekends as well as clubs at school. I can't stand being over scheduled and don't like the stress our society (academic and overachieving) has to begin with.
