Fuel Surcharge for Invitations?
I just ordered invitations for my Grandmother's 80th brithday party on VistaPrint and noticed a fuel surcharge. I'm pretty sure this is new. It was only a dollar, but still, this is getting ridiculous now!

I noticed this the other day too when I placed a PeaPod order. I would have thought that would have been included in the delivery charge.

Re: Fuel Surcharge for Invitations?
Maybe they were getting questions from customers about why shipping prices were higher ... so they broke it out as a separate charge?
The extra cost for the fuel involved in shipping has to come out of someone's pocket ... I guess Vistaprint decided it wasn't theirs

Now THAT is ridiculous! They put them in the mail, what does that have to do with a fuel surcharge??? I would complain about that too!

They're being charged by their supply providers for fuel surcharge; (ie. the paper they print your stuff on is delivered by truck...)
Instead of raising the prices, they're putting an additional line item on the bill, so they can say it's not their fault for raising prices, it's the trucking company's fault.

Re: Fuel Surcharge for Invitations?
Companies that ship goods are paying increased prices to trucking companies and delivery services beacuse of the risiing fuel prises so it makes sense that they pass the additional costs to the customer. I almost prefer a surcharge that may cease instead of the store permanently increasing their shipping fees.

Re: Fuel Surcharge for Invitations?
If they are being shipping via Fed Ex or the like, its understandable. Fed Ex is currently charging my company a 32.5% surcharge on all shipments.

Re: Fuel Surcharge for Invitations?
Chances are whoever they are using for shipping such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. is charging THEM a fuel surcharge they are in turn charing the customer.
My office ships out packages thru UPS -- and our bill is ALWAYS fluctuating cause of "fuel surcharges" each week--its sick. After awhile you have no choice but to tack on these charges to customers
