Full glass claim with State Farm auto insurance?
Has anyone made a glass claim with SF lately? Did you see any changes on your next policy renewal?
We have full glass coverage on our auto policy. We have a quarter-sized ding in our windshield from a rock and need to get it fixed before inspection and before it gets very cold.
I made one full glass claim when I was with Geico years ago, my premiums stayed the same, and they didn't drop me or anything. We have made no other claims on any insurance for years so we have a good record. I don't think they would raise premiums based on this, but you just never know with insurance companies!
Thanks

Your insurance premium should not change with a glass claim. We've done it twice in the same year with Allstate, and nothing changed.

glass claims don't usually change the rate upon renewal - however with some companies, I do know that if you have an excessive amount of glass claims the might non-renew you. I have NO clue if that's the case with State Farm though, as they are a private insurer, and I work in a brokers office.

i've seen it happen where a family has 5 glass claims in a year, and upon next renewal, SF will not continue glass cov. FREQUENCY is the key.
I have not seen rates increase for a glass claim.
You're good to go!

She is 100% correct, it is all about frequency!

Awesome, thanks ladies! I figure, that's the whole reason why I got the coverage, why should I be afraid to use it? Good to know.

I've had to replace my windsheild twice (times were spaced out). Never had a problem and nothing increased. They recommended Safelite and it worked out great b/c they came to me!
