Full time working moms..Do u feel guilty?
When you come home and only have like one hour to spend with your child before they go to bed?
I mean quantity time is more important than quality time. But sometimes dont you feel a bit bad that they are with their daycare providers all day?

I think everyone feels a little guilty no matter what path that choose - whether it be SAHM or working mom.
I think I'm a better mom to them because I'm working. I think if I were home all day, I would do laundry, errands etc. When I come home, I am kissing, hugging, snuggling & playing with them.

Re: Full time working moms..Do u feel guilty?
Yes and no.
Yes I feel bad that I don't get to see him all day and that we only get an hour in the morning and an hour at night. I feel bad that he cries for me some mornings and I have to walk away.
No it does not bother me that he is with several daycare providers during the day. I've watched him...he spends more time with the kids than with any adult so for that I am happy to see how well developed his social and play skills are.
We get the weekends and we do a lot of family stuff. My son doesn't seem to want for anything in terms of my attention or time and has adjusted well to the way our lives move.
This is the way it is. For my son to have the things he has...including excellent health care, a home, food and any type of clothing and education...this is the way it has to be. So 7 months ago I decided to get over it and make the best of it...and so far it has been good. Personally, I'm not sure I'd be good to be home with him...I'd have the poor kid doing chores every day so we'd be on top of things - seriously. He wouldn't have half of the fun with me that he has now. It's just the way it works for us.

I don't feel guilty - I work to put a roof over her head, food in her mouth, etc. If I didn't work she'd be missing something vital. I do, however, feel jealous.
I'm jealous that the babysitter gets to play with my DD all day. I'm jealous that DD gives her all the giggles and smiles that I don't get. I dress her in the morning, then bathe her, feed her and put her to bed at night. That's not as much fun for DD compared to the 8 hours of playtime with the babysitter.

me too, I don't feel terribly guilty about it. I just know it isn't for me. And so the time we do have together is quality time. And allows me to put everything else aside and just focus on him. Weekends too. Plus, now that he is older I can truly justify the benefits of daycare. Some of which I probably couldn't provide myself (i.e. the social interaction part). It's a hard choice for some. There are days I wish I could stay home with him. But I know that it could never be a permanent situation for me. I just don't do well at home. I'm much more motivated and energetic when I'm up early to go to work. And not just sitting in the living room with the baby in my pj's. That's just me though.

I agree. I work so he can have everything he needs and then some. And I cherish the precious time I have him with even more and I do not take a second that I have him for granted. I don't think I would be a good SAHM. I don't know hwat I would do with him all day, every day. This really is best for all of us.
I do feel jealous that my mom gets him all day though. But when I go to pick him up - he puts on this gummy 9 week old smile when he sees me and my heart melts. He knows I am his mommy and I loooove him.

I hear you ladies on this one. I too feel that I wouldnt do well at home all day with DS. He wouldnt get to play with other children he would just be around me all of the time. I love to play with him but come on how much can an adult play with a child in one day.

No I don't feel guilty at all. He really enjoys daycare and we really enjoy our quality time in the mornings and in the evenings.

Same here- plus I do all my other stuff at work too like paying bills and pay someone else to clean my house so the weekends are free for DD.
I also get home around 4 pm so I get the best part of my DD day- right after her nap when she is in the best mood.
