Fun kids books - 5-6 year olds

DD is in kindergarten and I am going to go to class to read a book or two to the kids, I am looking for something this is easy to read and fun for the kids..I want something the flows easily and keeps their interest.

DD just came home with an Elephant and Piggie book from school and I laughed hysterically! My first intro to Mo Willems...

DH is actually reading to DD's class tomorrow and he is bringing Wild About Books , The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin and Pumpkin Soup. He's aiming to read the first two, but has the third as a backup just in case. The librarian will also make suggestions if need be...

Last week DD said another parent read The Interrupting Chicken and something else she could not remember...

Just read spookley to my class today. Cute book and Disney just made it into a cartoon episode.

Totally Mo Willems...also the "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly" or others like that. Can't think of the author right now, but there are a couple of versions of this story. Kids love it.

Pinkalicious was a hit in my DD's class. The boys loved it too!

What about, "The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything"? DDs class enjoyed that as well.
