My mom always gets mistaken as being hispanic and even Indian. She's very light skinned and has long wavy hair. She works in retail and people always come to her asking her questions in another language.

I'm 1/2 guatemalan and 1/2 ecuadorian.
I have gotten mistaken for being white, russian, italian, egyptian (by my college professor!), all other types of hispanic (puerto rican, colombian, etc) and also mixed with asian.

Both my parents are Cuban (my grandparents are from Spain). I have fair skin, green eyes, and light brown hair so no one ever believes me when I tell them - they all think I am British or Irish or something else.

Yeah, the curly blonde with green eyes is Japanese.

I get Latina all the time.
But I am Trinidadian of Indian descent.
What is funny is that my DH is Dominican but people ALWAYS speak to him in English and me in Spanish. We open our mouths and constantly get dumbfounded looks!

I'm Mexican & Italian.
People pick out the Italian but never the Mexican. I've gotten asked if I'm Jewish and told I'm lying about being Mexican

all the time. people mostly think i am filipina because of my eyes. the best was when one guy asked me if I was "hawaiian" like that is an ethnicity!
my mom gets spoken to in chinese alot that is funny when that happens.

Due to my accent, people ask me if I am German or Eastern Europe.
1/ I sound as French as it gets. VERY far from a German accent
2/ I don't look Eastern European AT ALL.
At least they placed me somewhere in Europe.

I have been taken for Irish and German. I am not.
I DO consider my ethnic background to be Jewish. YES it is a religion, but it is a culture as well. I do not identify at all with my ancestry and it doesn't define who I am at all. HOWEVER, Judaism does, in many ways, define who I am and who I wish to be.
