** FURNITURE IN NORTH CAROLINA ...
Is it really that much cheaper? Thoughts?
My brother lives in Charlotte and said that he furnished his whole house for 5k ... I mean living room, dining room, bedrooms, office, etc!
So, I was thinking that I could buy the furniture down there and drive it via UHAL (only like $200) to NY. I mean, could I save thousands of dollars doing this?!!!

Re: ** FURNITURE IN NORTH CAROLINA ...
my mom ordered her furniture from blacksfurniture.com. It's a gorgeous dining room set by Hooker that she saw in Peter Andrews for over $3000. She got it for $2000 and I believe there was no tax or shipping. The only downside is that she had to wait a few months for it to come. They have a website.

They are always offering deals on free delivery and such and NEGOTIATE the price!
My Kitchen set it Hooker...LOVE IT!
I don't know about 5k. Our bedroom alone was more than 5K. Needless to say we still have not done the dreatroom, dining room, or office

My parents have a number of pieces from NC - they use boyles and another place whose name escapes me. They shop here then call the stores down there with the maker and model number. The shipping has either been free or very cheap. I know they saved about 2K on their dining room set.

Re: ** FURNITURE IN NORTH CAROLINA ...
I saw the dining room chairs I wanted at a store on Rt. 110. They were over $300 each so I never bought them because I needed 8. Someone suggested I go online. I contacted Almans and other furniture places in NC. I picked Almans because it is run by two brothers so I figured a family store would care more about its customers. They were professional and quick to respond. Their price for the same exact chairs were $108 each - and that included delivery to my house in NY. You don't pay tax! I ordered that minute and was prepared for a long wait but was really hoping to have them by Christmas. Because of lucky timing, they were prepping for a delivery to NY and I had them before Thanksgiving - which was exactly one week after I gave in my order.
I recommended this place to others and everyone has been very happy. The furniture came wrapped in heavy pads and in perfect condition. I told the saleman I would refuse them if I saw any damages at all and he said "of course". They are perfect and my husband couldn't be happier.
