FYI: BRU is not taking back any bumbo seats!

You must have a receipt to return it. It even came off of my registry and they will not take it back. They referred me to this website:

honeslty (and pls don't flame me for this!) - I beleive ours did say neevr to put a baby weho can get out of it in it....and not to place it on elevbated surfaces. Ours is packed away already since dd outgrew it months ago, but the recall is being done only to re-sticker them with a warning - the product will still be out there and imho, shouldbe - its a great thing, but should never be used unuspervised.....it stinks they won't take it back, but we loved our bumbo and would not hesitate to use it with #2 when the time comes! That's what I heard on the news as well.

The problem is with people using it incorrectly, on an elevated surface, not with the seat itself.

And yes, I heard it's just a "restickering issue" It seems as if some have stickers that are not absolutely clear in the wording.

There is no complete product recall.

I looked at mine. It clearly says on the seat NOT to put on elevated surfaces.

I use it with DS on the floor. I am not returning mine and I don't leave him unattended anyway.

Why are you trying to return it? There is nothing wrong with the products, only the people using it. It's a great product IMO.

ITA

I really disagree with the word "recall" being used with this.

It is a good product, and it is shame that people misuse it and leave a child on elevated surfaces in it.

I LOVE my bumbo. DD grew out of it, but when I realized she was trying to get out of it when I had it on the table, I moved her to the floor. I will never give up the bumbo. NEVER!!! Chat Icon

Don't worry about it Liz. Keep the Bumbo. I'm going to buy one soon myself. The 'recall' is for people that can't follow directions. You are smart, so you are allowed to keep yours. Chat Icon

I'm sorry...but I loved the example of the kid in the bumbo on the high table playing with a rope....
unattended. seems to be several things wrong with that whole picture.
I also am keeping mine.
I def think we will see them in the future with suction cups on the bottom though

Bryan outgrew his, so, I gave it to my SIL.
She said to me yesterday she's going to return it to me so I can return it.
I told her, that's fine, but I'm NOT returning it. I'll save it for #2.
I think she's just nervous. She completley understood that it was "recalled" because people don't follow directions, but, I guess she's still nervous.
So, I'll pack it away and save it for another day. I personally love the chair.

My SIL said she saw on the news that babies were still able to tip themselves backwards even when it wasn't on an elevated surface- so that is why I wanted to return it. My bumbo definitely has a sticker on it that states not to put in on an elevated surface- and even if it didn't, I still wouldn't put in on the table, counter, etc. I just makes me nervous thats all!

I totally understand. I think a lot of people are nervous. My SIL said the same thing. She's just nervous..Completley understandable.
When I used it with DS I sat right with him on the floor (which I am sure A LOT of parents do).
I'm going to keep it. If and when we have #2, I will use it the same way we did DS.Chat Icon

Re: FYI: BRU is not taking back any bumbo seats!

I returned one yesterday WITH a receipt and it took forever for them to get it to ring - I don't know if that is a coincidence or not. I returned it because I got 2 of them at my shower, I am keeping the other one. I think it will be fine as long as I use it the way I am supposed to.
