FYI for those delivering at Stony Brook.
I had a great experience there!
But just wanted to let you know, they DO NOT have the throw away underwear. I did not know this and ruined a pair of underwear. So just be prepared with a couple of pairs that you don't mind ruining.

They DO have them, just not on the maternity ward - they keep them in L&D. You can ask the nurses in L&D to give you a bunch before you go to the maternity side.
Towards the end I just used old pairs of my own underwear but yeah... that was messy

They didn't give them to me in L&D. I asked for them and the nurse said they don't have them because of budget cuts.

What? OMG that is so wrong! I am sorry... I should say that I was there 4 months ago so my info is outdated, but that is horrible. I made a mess ALL over the floor in L&D and that was with the mesh underwear

Yeah...I was little taken back. They just give you maternity pads and those big pads that you sit on in the bed. You have to hold it while you walk. So gross!!!
