PSA for ladies delivering at Stony Brook
I'm a diligent planner and thought I had planned/packed very well for our time at Stony Brook. Considering it was my 2nd delivery there in 2 years, I thought I had everything I needed but here are some things the post partum wing no longer provides:
disposable underwear (ask for extra when you leave L&D)
baby wipes - no joke!
washclothes
extra towels
slipper socks - take the ones from L&D
Pack these, ladies!!

Weird. I was there in March and actually ended up with 2 pairs of slipper socks since I had the ones from L&D on. I had plenty of towels, too and baby wipes (not wipes like you get at the store, ones you have to wet yourself, but that's what I had when I had my first there a few years ago).

That's so strange... when you say no baby wipes, they do still provide the little cloths you have to wet to wipe the baby right?

yes, they do still supply the square paper clothes you can wet to use as baby wipes -- I knew they'd be there but last time (March '08) we had regular wipes, too --
I forgot to mention that you can clearly hear your neighbors' conversations in their rooms, too.
My mom stayed with me for one night and she kept telling me what our neighbors were saying -- not a big deal when you're REALLY tired but if there's a party next door and you want to rest -- use the ear plugs they provide!
Everything else was outstanding, though!

Okay good I got a bit nervous.
I was at South Nassau with DS and I didn't get any of the things you listed. I hated their towels though! I will definitely bring my own this time.
