FYI: Jericho Turnpike & Elwood ROAD CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING
So my usual 30 minute drive home from work took 1 1/2 hours. The intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Elwood road is COMPLETELY FLOODED! You must either make a U-turn back onto Jericho heading West or go up Elwood but risk driving through about 2 foot high water. The SCPD and road crews are there.
Traffic is completely backed up to Deer Park Road. It is flooded from the Blockbuster lot clear across the road (5 or 6 lanes) to the parking lot on the other side
If you need to get up in that area I suggest taking NSP to Sagtikos/Sunken Meadow and get off on Pulaski or Jericho further east.

Oh man, this s*cks! My whole neighborhood was without power and all flooded this morning. Its not very romantic taking a candle lit shower at 6am all alone and without HOT water!

My basement is now up to 2 inches of water....dh gave up on the pump and vacuum. He is going to wait till it stops

We have a high ranch - no basement.
But my Dad's floods all the time, I have to go check it tonight.

That is not good. I don't live too far from there. I hope they have taken care of that by the time I get home tonite. I have to go for some errands and get my pedicure/manicure.....hopefully by then, it's all cleared out....

I was there! I did the U-turn option and came home..ummm..Deer Park Rd..(over by Pathmark) then took the backroads from Manor Road!
I left work in Dix Hills at 3:50 and Just got home!
Usually only takes me 15 mins. one way!

I was stuck in that mess also! I had to go all the way up to greenlawn and back down to get on to jericho. Do you work in Elwood??

No way will it clear up by then. The water is at least two feet high, starts in the middle of one parking lot and goes clear across the road to mid way through the other. The firehydrant is barely visible that is how high the water is.

No I live in East northport and work in Nassau, south shore that how I was on NSP to Deer Park to Elwood
