This entire situation is making me nervous. I am concerned what will happen tomorrow in DC should the Senate flip.
There is nobody, except Trump, that believes for a minute any of these antics tomorrow will change the outcome. For ANY contested vote to be excluded it needs approval from BOTH the House and the Senate. The Dems control the House, there is NO scenario where they would approve any of this, McConnel own the Senate and even he isn't on board, he will keep most of his party in line. This is a dead end.
Of course, there is STILL this little issue of zero credible evidence of fraud. Elected officials in GA are still holding firm and going up against Trump's lies. Toomey, the PA Senator, isn't even on board, this is all a wild goose chase. In 15 days Biden will be inaugurated.

The Electoral Count Act of 1887 and several federal statutes address questions about contested electors that land in Congress. The Congressional Research Service’s current interpretation of the Electoral Count Act explains its understanding of the process when it comes to objections to electoral votes.
“Objections to individual state returns must be made in writing by at least one Member each of the Senate and House of Representatives. If an objection meets these requirements, the joint session recesses and the two houses separate and debate the question in their respective chambers for a maximum of two hours,” the CRS said. “The two houses then vote separately to accept or reject the objection. They then reassemble in joint session, and announce the results of their respective votes. An objection to a state’s electoral vote must be approved by both houses in order for any contested votes to be excluded.

This exactly.
The Dem House saves us and it also appears that the Repub led Senate is holding. This is a step too far for establishment people like Romney and Collins.
I could definitely see some of the slimier ones changing their mind should the Senate turn blue however I doubt we'll know that in time for them to object and debate. Mail in ballots have until 7 pm to arrive. This is probably going to take several days. I'm sure there will be litigation. Congress will almost definitely need to decide on the EC votes without knowing the Georgia results.
What concerns me is the long term. There are reportedly at least 140 House Repubs willing to object to the election results on the basis of zero evidence after 59/60 cases were dismissed or ruled against. This number is not a fringe minority - we're talking about approx 2/3 of the Repubs in the house. They have embraced the crazy. How far will they take this?

I agree. It is truly scary how many Republicans have chosen their own best interests and the the rambling lunacy of a madman over facts, truth and the constitution they took an oath to uphold. It's unfortunate that there is a large subset of this party that has literally looked the other way, wrote their own rules or who have been entirely complicit in Trump's disregard for our laws and democracy.
I am hoping that once Trump is out of office, although he won't go quietly into the night, people will slowly move past him since he will not be able to absorb all of the limelight and attention anymore. People get bored, the uneducated population he has secured will eventually find some other stupidity to whine about and move past him. But the scary part is how he's been able to brainwash millions and now we are left with half of society who believes conspiracy theories to truth, Trump's lies to fact and their own Google research to science.
We will be dealing with the consequences of this administration for years to come. He's destroyed half the country and has turned the Republican party into a bunch of lawless, spineless, wastes of space.

I am more concerned over Trump's call for protesting in DC tomorrow. Trump's NY tweet calling for action from groups such as Proud Boys. Tarrio was arrested when he came to DC yesterday for destruction of property and they found him in procession of 2 high capacity guns. That is what I am concerned about.
I'm not concerned about the election. As some point, the unconstitutionalism of it all will stop it. I'm worried about the possible violence from the protesting.

I hear ya. I am concerned too because stupid and guns don't play well together. Hopefully D.C. is prepared to handle the chaos with ample police and more if necessary.
I will keep saying it, all of this insanity and undermining of democracy is 100% of the reason why a "man" like Trump should have NEVER been elected into office in the first place. Narcissism, selfishness, stupidity and power hungry lunatic are NOT qualities a president should have.
I just want tomorrow over with and then all of his idiot supporters who are holding on to false hope and chanting fraud can finally shut up. Nobody will care and the rest of us will move forward, after tomorrow Trump is out of options.

The National Guard will be in position in D.C. to deal with any violent protests, so hopefully just their presence there will prevent things from escalating.

It's so sad tbat we have to have police and national guard in place for what is suppose to be nothing more than a quick ceremonial event. So much for the peaceful transfer of power.

DH friends from work are going to DC. One guy called and asked my husband if it’s ok. He told the guy “He doesn’t care what he does but it’s a stupid idea. Trump doesn’t care about you and to wear a mask”. I was sitting next to him cracking up:
I honestly didn’t know there was a planned protest until I saw this thread and to find out later that i know fools from NJ driving down there.

There are 5 busses from a “patriot”’group on LI headed down today. Saw pictures of packed bus. 2 masks. Rona city, gross.
They called in the guard last night in DC as pro Trump protestors fought police last night and were tear gassed.
Saturday in DC sounds like it’ll be scary.
Since it’s always a comment when others protest: I guess no one works? Taking a bus down FOUR days before a planned March and booking a hotel for it seems like people have a lot of time on their hands.

The irony that the GOP - the conservative party - is trying to usurp the states' power and rights can't be lost. GOP looks to lessen Federal Government's power but this GOP President is trying to take the very fundamental principle and power from the states. How can some party members not see the irony of this???

Construction is a tough world. You have to take the work when you can get it.
They have a group message with a big group from his job.. and the back and forth between the two sides during elections were hysterical. The memes, jokes and insults was so entertaining. On both sides.

He absolutely does and Pence will be killing his career if he follows this fool. I mean who would stand up for a man who is threatening them? Trump is literally threatening Pence if he doesn’t contest. With friends like that who needs enemies. Republicans should run and save what’s left of their dignity and regroup.
Experts are saying Trump is what ruined the Republicans chances in Georgia for Senate. Did you hear him at the rally? It was 98% about him and 2% plugs about the candidates being “good people”.

The irony that the GOP - the conservative party - is trying to usurp the states' power and rights can't be lost. GOP looks to lessen Federal Government's power but this GOP President is trying to take the very fundamental principle and power from the states. How can some party members not see the irony of this???
I agree. They have sold themselves to the Devil.
I love how Trump is turning on Pence now.
They are eating their own at this point and I am here for it.
I think Trump actually hurt their chances.
I agree. I honestly think if he just stayed out of the GA race and didn't say anything, the results might be flipped.

In other news, Ossaff won. Dems control both houses!!!
Both Senators-elect won by more than .5%, so there is no automatic recount.
In 4 years, he went from having a Republican Senate, House, and WH.... and he managed to get them all flipped blue! Now THAT is winning!!!!
