Garage question
Does anyone know how much it would cost to add a one car garage on to a home?
DH and I foudn a house we really like but it doesnt have a garage which is one of our must haves. We can live without it for a bit but are curious how much the renovation would cost down the road.

I think to build a free-standing one car garage is about 16k-18k. Don't know how much it would be to have it built attached to the house, but probably similar.

we would have liked a garage, but went with the house with a full basement and no garage instead... however we have a beautiful shed right next to the driveway that has been awesome to use... so we really dont miss having a garage!

Thanks, but not having a garage is not an option. my DH MUST have one!
Personally I wouldnt miss it, but he would! We have a garage now and a big shed and a workshop in the basement. So I know our next house needs all of those as well!
