Garden City house, Franklin Square schools?
I have a quick question. If the house is in GC but FS schools, which HS would that be? The only info on FS schools that i could find were for elementary schools. DH said he thought FS goes to HS in Elmont. So would kids from GC go to Elmont's HS, too?

Re: Garden City house, Franklin Square schools?
Franklin Square Schools go to Sewanhaka Central High School Dsitrict.
The high schools in that district are: Carey Sewanhaka Elmont and New Hyde Park Memorial.
Most likely if the house is in Franklin Square, you would use Carey High school, which is fine. i would ask the real estate agent just to be sure.
ETA: you're right.. the only schools in FS School Dsitrict are elementary schools, hence the district that is just high schools.

Re: Garden City house, Franklin Square schools?
Carey High School is known to not be the greatest of High Schools academically ..just so you know..honestly..Sewanaka is a better school academically speaking. I also know a lot of people who were supposed to go to Carey based on where they lived, but went around the system and attended West Hempstead HS b/c it was a better school...

You have to be very careful when looking in FS-the lines in the town make a big difference on the schools you send your kids-the area isn't that great(school wise)

no, it is definitely NOT garden city high school. no chance of that. like i said, it's probably Carey or Sewanahaka.

Re: Garden City house, Franklin Square schools?
It's definitely Carey High School. I went to Carey and some of my friends lived in Garden City South and they were FS School District.
Franklin Square School District is considered the following for Elementary: Washington Street Polk Street John Street
And for High Schools it's Seawanhaka Central High School District which is the following: - Carey HSl (for ALL Franklin Square residents, some West Hempstead, and some GC residents) - Seawanhaka HS (For some Floral Park & some Elmont residents) - Floral Park Memorial HS (all Floral Park residents) - Elmont HS (all Elmont residents) - New Hyde Park HS (all NHP residents)
There is also a part of Franklin Square homes that are in the "Valley Stream" SD and the Franklin Square residents will attend "Valley Stream North HS" which is in Franklin Square.
A bit confusing yes, but all Franklin Square elemenatary schools and high schools are GREAT schools.
Feel free to FM me with any questions!
