Gardening question
I have a garden now where I am living but I've never put much into it. In our new house, the previous owner did a great job designing lots of beautiful things and I really want to keep it up.
What do I need to do to keep it up (besides water daily)? I see she has old mulch down (which I've never used)...do I pick up the old before I put down new or do I just put the new on top

Re: Gardening question
I would rake through the old mulch and turn the ground over a bit. Then new mulch and water well.

Re: Gardening question
weeding and training/cutting the plants will keep it looking nice and tidying. once is over grows it looks horrible. you have to learn about the plants b/c a lot of plants need to be cut down in the spring/winter etc.
as far as the mulch, what i do is mix old with new b/c the old ones will peep through and then it looks horrible so to avoid this, i mix
