We are in Chicago and regular is averaging $3.65. I heard on the news that we have the highest gas in the country.
I think San Fransico does- over $4 $4.50 last I heard from my sister

In the UK right now it is $6.05 a gallon, so really it's not so bad over here!

great- that means it's going to be $3.60 for plus and at 25 gallons- $90 to fill my SUV up
it was $55 when I got this job in CT- I can't do this much longer....
$360 a month for gas plus $200 in tolls
my commuting cost went from $420 a month to $560- this sucks!
You took the words out of my mouth! Thank goodness my summer job is closer to home! My poor DH isn't

I'm probably the only one- but I'm not bothered by it at all.
First, I have no control over it so I feel like why should I waste my time and energy?
Second, if it bothers me THAT much I would or would have already switched to a much more fuel efficient car.
Third, it is and always has been MUCH more expensive in Europe so I try to look on the bright side of things.
I don't know why- the gas just doesn't bother me.
I agree with this 100%.

Re: Gas prices - up again!!
I paid $3.59 or premium today for the car and DH paid $3.39 for regular for the SUV.
I only put in half a tank before I decided to just take the subway for $4. It was much cheaper since I'd waste a gallon of gas coming & going by sitting in NYC traffic and no driving around forever looking for parking.
I may be dating myself but I remember being a kid and seeing gas for $.69 a gallon. The 6 or the 9 had fallen off of the local gas station onto the median during a hurricane and it still sticks in my mind.

I agree with this 100%. well most people who drive do care. it's all over the news today. like it or not, fuel prices effect everything including food. everything you buy has been trasnported at one point using fuel.

I wish we were organized enough as our parents who made a difference by buying smaller cars and carpooling. i am guilty of not carpooling and I should start. I am so tired of the gas prices. how is it that teh gov't allows this when exxon is reporting record highs for their ceos/owners? i dont understand

seriously- it must be nice not to care...but it will effect EVERYTHING- from planes to trucking for food
an extra $160 a month to me isn't going to kill me- but there are people making minium wage- that to them that is the difference between eating and not eating

ITA - and I hate the Europe comparison - htey have a different tax system, if you take taxes out we still pay more (according to newsday last year anyway)
