Geico home insurance
I remember reading in a thread that Geico now offers HO insurance in LI. Does anyone have it? How did it compare to other companies? We currently have Allstate for HO and auto so I'd be looking to do the combo to get a deal.

Re: Geico home insurance
I believe its thru travelers not Geico but you would obtain it thru Geico. I don't have it, and when I was purchasing my house I called Geico and was told it was an option just no where I was buying a home.

When we bought our house 2 years ago I had this issue because I had Geico for my car insurance. I just remember reading on here recently that is now available in LI so I was curious who had it. Our HO through Allstate isn't actually Allstate, it's another company but we got it through Allstate, so it would be the same thing.

Re: Geico home insurance
We have Home inurance and car insurance through Geico. It is through Naramgansett???.
We also will be using it for our house in Dix Hills so for anyone in Suffolk, they have it...
We switched to Geico within the last six months in Nassau from Allstate. Allstate dropped us because they said we lived in a flood zone.. Which is so funny because we live in Syosset.. They were randomly discontinuing insurance and we got picked. when we switched to Geico it ended up being cheaper than Allstate so it ended up being better for us in the long run...

Re: Geico home insurance
we left allstate and went to geico for both our cars and house...we have naragansett through geico as well...it was a ridiculous difference in price! I was paying almost triple with allstate.

That's funny. We also had Allstate for homeowners for about five years until we were dropped because we were supposedly in a flood zone (in South Huntington?!? I have lived in Dix Hills and S. Huntington my whole life. I hesitate to think what kind of a storm there would have to be for the area to flood ). About a year and a half later, I guess we were no longer in a flood zone (same house) because they wanted us back. We respectfully declined.

Thank you! We're in Nassau as well so maybe I'll give them a call this weekend.

Oh wow! We have Allstate for everything, but I'm always looking for ways to save money. I had Geico for car insurance before we bought our home and I really liked them.
