Gel Color Powder?

Has anyone had this done to their nails? My nail place recently started offering it and I was curious how it looks, how long it lasts, etc. It's colored powder in a little pot that your finger gets dipped it. No UV light required.

Re: Gel Color Powder?

I had it done twice. It took a while (over an hour) and honestly the results didn't last on my nails any longer than gel.

I get it now and love it. Takes about same amount of time and for my nail type lasts at least two weeks. Also you soak it off so it doesn't seem to be destroying nail underneath.

Gel Color Powder?

I have gotten it twice- first time lasted 4 weeks no chips only growth. Second time within 2 weeks I had chips. I love having my nails done but honestly can't justify spending crazy money on them any more when NOTHING lasts for me. Only thing I've had success with is permanent French but they are costly to upkeep

My place started offering it and it's $8 more than regular gel. They said it's not as bad for your nails. I got regular gel 3x in a row and this was the last.

I'm with you. I can't justify spending time OR money in the nail salon! I like the way they look but it's not good for you anyway!

Re: Gel Color Powder?

My mom physically can't get Gel anymore. After many years of the chemical on her nails they started hurting to the point she couldn't touch her fingers. Extremely painful.
Finally after 2 fill ins without the gel her fingers have healed. Also My moms friends actually got Melanoma in her nail from the UV light. Surgeons had to remove her entire nail and is lucky the cancer didn't spread because she would have lost her entire finger.Chat Icon Im supposed to get my nails done for my sister inlaws wedding and now im not sure what to get. I need it to last since its in Aruba, so I will probably just get the gel but after the wedding get them all taken off.

I do it but for me it doesn't last just got them done last saturday and on saturday one whole nail came off but nothing lasts on my nails; regular gel didn't even last that long.

I like it because I don't like the idea of the UV constantly on my nails so this is the best choice because I can't stand waiting for my nails to dry and with this I don't have to wait!!

The powder gel dry IMO like acrylic nails but it doesn't ruin your nails like acrylic nails do.

I've done the powder before. It comes out very nice but I feel it takes very long and depending on who at the salon did it for me it wouldn't last. I love doing French but for the powder French it was $45 and I couldn't justify spending that when after about 8 days they looked bad.

I'm so surprised by reading these responses. I wonder if there are different types of powder?
I do it and it doesn't take a long time at all. The same as regular gel but it lasts much longer for me. It's almost indestructible. Gel for me starts chipping by the 10 day mark.
Powder I can leave on for weeks.. If it weren't for the growth I bet I could go a month between.

Re: Gel Color Powder?

First time I did the french and it took so long but they lasted almost 3 weeks and were so strong. My real nails grew so much with the gel powder.
Second time I did it they barely lasted two weeks and it pretty much destroyed my nails. They have been so weak ever since and constantly chip and break making it hard to keep polish on.

Love love love it. Costs $30 and lasts 3 weeks. Never chips. The nail growth is what makes it chip on the bottom after about 2 1/2 weeks. Takes a tad longer but to me it's so worth it. I'm obsessed

Gel Color Powder?

I LOVE IT!! it does take a little longer. But it lasts 3 weeks for me and is much harder than a gel so your nails almost feel like acrylic.

Re: Gel Color Powder?

See to me it doesn't matter because after 2 weeks my regrowth is so bad it has to come off because it looks like hell.
My regular gel manicures last 2 weeks so I don't need it to last any longer because it would have to come off anyway..

Have you tried the Vinulyx weekly polish?? My salon offers it for like $5 more than a regular mani and it does last a full week.
