Gender reveal party but you already know the sex
I'm wondering if anyone has done this. DH and I are most likely going to be finding out the sex of the baby at the next ultrasound. We want that moment alone together to find out. We were thinking of having a small gender reveal party for our close family (maybe 9 or 10 people) the following week to tell everyone what we're having. Is it weird to have a gender reveal party if WE already know the sex of the baby? I'm afraid it might take the fun out of it.

That's what we did - we knew the gender for a few weeks before we had the gender reveal party. It was hard to keep the secret but it was also fun to know and not tell anyone for awhile!

Totally something I would do. I wanted to find out in private, but I completely love surprising everyone else. I think it's a great idea!

This is how my mom wants to be told. She wants to have a BBQ at her home and invite my aunts uncles and grandparents for the reveal. I have no issue with it but my husband hates the idea.

How did you do it?
We did silly string and took the tops off and handed them out to everyone.

I think you can do a traditional gender reveal and know the sex. You just don't tell anyone the sex before the gender reveal. That's what I plan to do.

I did it this way. DH & I found out before we told our immediate family. Only had about 15 people at our gender reveal party.

We just had one and we knew. We were having a BBQ a anyway so it just worked out well. We turned it into a game and got all the guests involved. We did black water balloons. All had water except one which had blue paint. We took turns popping them. The person who popped the blue balloon won a prize.

My cousins did it - they knew and brought a cake. One of them - we found out they were expecting on the same day.
