Re: gerber puffs

I just started giving them to my son. Hes 8 months. A few weeks ago he was making a face and pushing them out with his tongue but now he is enjoying them.

Re: gerber puffs

Just a few tips for easing into them - first I would add a little water to them to make them softer. And then after I stopped that I broke them in half, then moved onto the whole puff. Sounds a little crazy but with my DS, everything had to be gradual when it came to food!

Re: gerber puffs

Ali has been eating them a little over a month. She is 7 1/2 months. So I guess we started her on them at 6 months.

I started at 8 months but he had no idea what to do with them! He would snatch them up in his fist, wave the fist around, throw the puff, etc.

Finally about three wks later when he was closer to 9 months, he just casually picked a puff one day and popped it into his mouth the right way! I think he just wasn't ready before that.

Re: gerber puffs

it was right before 7 months for me. A friend of mine had them *her son was 1 month older) and told me to eat one. Once I realized they melted so quickly and easily I felt good about giving them.

Re: gerber puffs

Hailey is turning 7 months tomorrow and we have a doctors appointment and I plan on asking. I bought some already. She tries to grab the spoon and any food that I eat so I think she is ready. The only thing I worry about is she has no teeth but they melt quickly.

Re: gerber puffs

I started DS with them at 7 months, but broke them in half... Now at almost 8 months he grabs the whole ones and pops them in his mouth
