Getting a copy of GIA certification for a diamond
Anyone know how I can get a copy of a GIA certification so I can sell my engagment ring once and for all? I have no idea where the papers are, I only have the appraisal that I used for the insurance company. Any help would be appreciated!

Was it previously certified by the GIA? If so, it would have come with the certificate. I don't know that they keep their certifications on file...I think you'd have to pay to get it graded.

the GIA cert has a # - it's likely on the insurance appraisal. You can contact the GIA and get a duplicate for a fee.

I found the appraisel but no cert # on it. I called GIA and waiting for someone to get back to me about getting a copy.

some diamonds have the GIA # inscribed on the girdle (mine does). You can't see it with the naked eye, but a jeweler could find it with a loupe. maybe take it to a jeweler this weekend and see if they can find anything!
